National Margarita Day celebrated Saturday, February 22nd at Margaritaville, was a great day for margarita lovers to unite and celebrate that concoction that helps us hang on! Over 17,000 margaritas were ordered that day and over 700 people graduate from Margaritaville University. Congratulations to Tom C. for winning our National Margarita Day Recipe Contest with his "Simple as 3-2-1 Margarita." Tom won a Tahiti Frozen Concoction Maker and his recipe was featured in our Margaritaville locations all across the country for the celebration. Try your hand at making this winning drink with the recipe below. It's the perfect way to cool off and relax this spring break.

3 Parts Margaritaville Tequila
2 Parts Cointreau
1 Part Roses' Sweetened Lime Juice Splash (1/2 oz) Grand Marnier

Mix the first 3 ingredients, and then pour into a large ice-filled Margarita glass Top with a splash of Grand Marnier

Optional adjustments:

In the event the results prove a bit too sweet for your taste; add a few drops of natural lime juice. To go the opposite direction, you can sweeten it by adding a little more Cointreau.

h2>For salted rim lovers:

Wet the rim of the Margarita glass with Cointreau, and then dip in “Margarita Salt.” Any coarse salt can be substituted.

A warm tropical breeze has come through HarborWalk Village in Destin, Florida with the recent opening of the new Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

Perfectly placed directly on Destin Harbor, the 27,000 sq. ft. restaurant has enough seating for 350 guests with a collection of indoor and outdoor seating areas. Guests arriving via the boardwalk or by boat can grab a table on the restaurant's many decks extending over the water, or kick back in one of the interior's antique upholstered wooden booths. Walls of windows on both floors open completely creating an abundance of open air seating on the harbor's emerald green waters treating guests to spectacular views of the marina and the coast's famous white sand beaches.

Destin embodies everything Margaritaville represents, from its beautiful Gulf Coast location and outdoor lifestyle to the great people who live and visit there.

if your spring break travel plans include Northwest Florida, don't forget about the Margaritaville Beach Hotel on Pensacola Beach. Everything you want for a relaxing vacation is right there -- a gorgeous beach, paddleboarding, dining at Frank and Lola Love Pensacola overlooking the Gulf, and cocktails or cold drinks poolside or on the beach at the LandShark Beach Bar. You'll never want to leave!

If you are up for some exploring, we recommend touring Fort Pickens, the National Naval Aviation Museum, and the Pensacola Lighthouse. You can make special advance reservations to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a bird's eye view to watch one of the Blue Angels' practice runs; space is limited, but it's worth the climb!

If you get down to Louisiana check out The Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City.

Additional Margaritaville hotels coming soon include The Margaritaville Island Hotel in Pigeon Forge, TN (opening this summer), The Margaritaville Casino in Biloxi will be adding a hotel (opening in 2015) and The Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in South Florida (opening in 2015) see renderings below.
